Elections in a Small Mexican Municipality star
Mexico has a multi-party political system with the three major parties having the acronyms PRI, PAN, and PRD. In the municipality that I live in, local elections definitely take precedence over federal and statewide ones. To many of the citizenry there, it matters who is elected el presidente/mayor.
